Shabnam Shahabadi, M.D., FAAD

Dr. Shahabadi graduated Summa Cum Laude from the George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Washington DC. She earned her Doctorate of Medicine degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2003 and completed a residency in dermatology at the George Washington University and Washington Hospital Center in 2007. She is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology. She is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, and Women’s Dermatologic Society and the American Medical Association. After completing her residency, Dr. Shahabadi joined the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Biology at Thomas Jefferson University and served as assistant clinical professor between 2007 and 2008. During her stay at Thomas Jefferson University, she was involved in the education of dermatology residents and medical students. Dr. Shahabadi has clinical interest in general adult and pediatric dermatology, dermatologic surgery, as well as aesthetic dermatology including therapeutic use of botulism toxin A, sclerotherapy and soft tissue fillers. Reza Mirali akbari, M.D., FACS

Dr. Mirali graduated Magna Cum Laude from Temple University with a bachelor degree in biochemistry. He obtained his medical doctorate degree from Temple University School of Medicine. He subsequently completed a full general surgical training at East Carolina School of Medicine-Pitt County Memorial Hospital. This training included a full year of Cardiothoracic research fellowship. Subsequently he underwent his plastic surgical training at Penn State University-Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Upon completion of his plastic surgical training, Dr. Mirali joined the Division of Plastic Surgery at Hershey Medical Center for three years. As Assistant Professor in Surgery, he had responsibilities in education and training of medical students, general surgery, as well as plastic surgery residents. While at Hershey Medical Center, Dr. Mirali performed clinical as well as basic science research. He has authored many publications throughout his career and has had many regional and national presentations (either by himself of his residents on his research material) to his credit. During his years at Hershey Medical Center, Dr. Mirali developed a keen interest in the field of Reconstructive Microsurgery. To pursue his interest he underwent a fellowship year at University of Pennsylvania, performing over 160 microsurgical operations. Dr. Mirali is a double board certified plastic surgeon (American Board of Surgery and American Board of Plastic Surgery, both boards are recognized by American Board of Medical Subspecialties) with subspecialty training in microsurgery. He is a member of American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, American College of Surgeons, Wound Healing Society, and Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Mirali's clinical interests cover the full span of Plastic Surgery: bony and soft tissue reconstruction after cancer resection (skin, head and neck, trunk, extremities), reconstruction post trauma, hand surgery, congenital defects, secondary burn reconstruction, as well as cosmetic procedures (facelift, rhinoplasty, neck lift, full body lifts post massive weight loss, etc…). In the reconstructive aspect of his field he has a special interest in implant as well as soft tissue reconstruction of breast tissue using the most advanced techniques (Free TRAM, MS TRAM, DIEP, SIEA, SGAP, IGAP, TUG flaps). In the cosmetic aspect of plastic surgery, Dr. Mirali has extensive experience in full body contouring operations, especially after massive weight loss.
